My only hope of getting out without a loss was headbutt flinches. Chose to risk Litleo for that because Furfrou is kind of a defensive beast right now so RIP Esteem. Been getting by against the skin of our teeth against some of these trainers. Some random dude with a Relicanth nearly killed Frogadier and Croagunk in the gym too, way scarier than Grant ended up being.
The teambuilding before the 2nd gym was honestly really fun, ended up just going for stuff that seemed fun to use. First I wanted to add Hippopotas as my final member, until I almost sent Shedinja out into the sandstorm and realised the synergy there wasn't great. Also thought about using Amaura but since it's Jolly nature I ended up choosing for Granbull because I never used one and intimidate is always great.
Shedinja is probably my favourite thing to use so far, always a bit of suspense of whether something randomly carries bite. It's highlight being that it just solo'd both Korrina's Lucarios because they can't touch it.

I think hardly any encounters in Kalos are that rare since most of the routes have like 8 different encounter possibilities with varying rarity depending on the grass patch. Croagunk is pretty common in the flowerless grass where I caught it but would be like 5% or something earlier in the route. Makes every run very unique though. Furfrou has been great so far btw.
