I can understand 12 year olds thinking he is cool and edgy and “muh hope bro” but other than that nothing about his character is appealing, he would fit right in with the V3 cas. I suppose his voice actor did a good performance with what material he was given but you can never save a terrible character with well delivered lines.
And both DR3 and DRV3 were both shitty trash heaps in my eyes, I actually enjoyed the former more because of how hilarious the dub was. V3 was just an angry disappointment, I had never felt such disdain for a game before in my life.
