There are a series of gear platforms, every two platforms are controlled by a bell. When you ring the bell the platforms rotate, this is how the player must create a path to the gym leader.

Very quiet young gym leader who is also the caretaker for the town's famous Bell Tower. The bell ringing supposedly keeps bad luck away and when the player arrives the bell is in need of repair. So to be able to to challenge the gym leader the player must bring Benjamin the item "Gear Oil" to fix the Bell Tower and return him to his post in the gym.
