A 1:1 remake of BW would unironically miss the point of Gen 5. Regardless of how you feel about it, Gen 5 wanted to be ambitious. From a huge bustling city, a huge bridge with cars coming through, character protraits with mouth movement, huge tree in one version and a huge tower in another, etc. Gen 5 clearly wanted to be more than just a ported DPPl with new assets. It wanted to be grand and new. It wanted to push the DS to it's limits. Same thing with the soundtrack as well. Remastering it like they did with DP instead of truly remaking it to series' current standard or more would be a huge disservice to BW.

I think gen 5 is where the visuals really start to get le bad. Someone looked at the aspect ratio of pic related and said: "MMM YES! Give it camera focus and it's own unique stage to focus on such great aspect ratio".

I know it's probably just nostalgia, but some Pokemon related memories are just so damn good. Some routes, and OST are incredibly memorable. Friends come and go. You might move, or get a new job. Life changes, but replaying old pokemon games feels like going home.

I just don't like character models being so expressive in 3D. Like Professor Birch you see in the picture.

I like the non-expressive faces in 2D. I just dislike the idea of a face expressing emotion over words, especially when the words are gonna be there anyway.

My favourite art-style was BW2's. XY has felt like a step back in every way.
