I've spent the last few hours crying like a bitch and am finally ready to accept that I'll never be done with this franchise. I'm tired of pretending that one day I'll convince myself that I don't have to buy literally anything Gamefreak puts out, tired of pretending things are gonna get better, tired of hesitating to not put my money towards something I don't really enjoy, tired of being disappointed that I caved in and bought it anyways.
I will always treasure the memories Pokémon has given me and will gladly replay games from gens 1 to 5 from time to time, maybe try the occasional romhack, but as far as any upcoming products, I'm hooked, I've tried over and over to reignite my enthusiasm but no matter what, the fact of the matter is that when I look at the new stuff it doesn't matter because I'll buy it anyways, I don't care that I no longer recognize the franchise I fell in love with in any shape or form, or that it has mutated into something I would rather pretend it doesn't exist.
