The staff knows there's people within our fandom that will be dissapointed and fans that will rage, and for the sake of preventing the latter, they didn't show the kiss so the more 'fanatic' ones can think of it as a kiss on the lips, while the calculating perceptive type will recognize the style and hints that it's actually on the cheek.
