Its obvious not all of them are serious but I would not be surprise if some are being serious. The only conclusion I can come up with is that people with mental issue usually follows the popular group and since gardevoir is popular they end up attracted to it. I'm positive that you can fine people like this with any other popular pokemon like greninja,charizard,mewto ect.
You should see how these guys react when you post gallade and gardevoir together, it angers them so much.
