>>12229219That's the dumbest comparison you could have ever made.
We're saying that it assumes too many things which makes it a stupid joke. It created a universe in which Suicune can not only breed, but produce eggs capable of running away.
The comic never addresses the nonsensical universe as a punchline. You have the main character patiently waiting for the egg. She's obviously supposed to be the one we're relating to and we automatically assume is either going to wait there forever because it can't breed (in which case the character is relatable because she hasn't learned that yet) or she is waiting for an unexplained reason which will likely be the punchline.
You're implying there's two punchlines. There's not. It's not presented as a punchline in any way; it's treated as a fact and it's not addressed by a straight man (who was originally either going to be the day care fella or the woman) to indicate this is an alternate universe in which it can breed. You can't have two punchlines where one of them needs to be accepted as fact before the other one can be considered coherent, much less be funny. It's like a Carlos Mencia joke:
"What are Mexicans doing to or with pigs to make swine flu? What's next donkey flu"
I've accepted the premise that fucking pigs makes swine flu. Now I need to accept that it's a fact in this alternate universe to understand what the fuck he means when he says there's a donkey flu on the way. It's too complex and has too many levels to be considered funny. I have to jump through too many hoops to arrive at the punchline.
The comic offers nothing. Does it explain why Suicune eggs are impossible to obtain? Fuck no, because the trainer comes in contact with the egg. Is it funny? If you find this comic even slightly redeeming in any way, you probably clap your hands like a fucking buffoon if you see your precious nerd culture anywhere outside of your house and laugh watching Big Bang Theory.
It's a shitty comic .
