Speaking of /padt/‘a dad, based Yajima. I was looking at the writing staff and it turns out in his entire career this movie is the first time in his long career that Yajima has actually written something as he co-wrote the screenplay with tamioka. While I’m happy the movie succeeded from what I’ve heard it’s pretty mediocre in comparison to the power of us which was amazing and everything tamioka touching turning into gold I think this comes down to Yajima being an inexperienced writer. but it makes me wonder why he even wants to get into writing.
Four theories
He wanted tamioka to teach him writing so he can be more hands on in the creative production end outside of storyboarding
He wants to learn how to write so he can produce his own projects whether they be Pokémon or not
Or it’s just resume fodder so if he ever parts with OLM he can easily secure another job as a show director instead of having to start over as an episode director.
There’s also the possibility he just wants to try new things.
