Pinsir Mega Evolves into the super fast killing machine Mega Pinsir.
A trainer could decide to use that.
Or he could decide to evolve it into Pinjaw which isn't as fast and as strong as Mega Pinsir, but is bulkier. The stat total is the same as Mega Pinsir.
Giving the trainer two styles of combat, also not making the previous form totally useless.
