Plenty of people already suspected that a Dex cut was gonna happen due to the ever-expanding scope of the franchise. The larger issue with Dexit is all of their empty promises about improved quality. Also the lack of any information about Pokemon Home as a 'solution'.
Removing the Battle Frontier (and features like it) let's us know that they don't really care about long term content anymore. "Kids have smartphones! Why bother developing any more content?". Replay value is gone. Alola has a full Dex available, but it's absolutely boring. Battle Buffet is a poor man's Le Wow. There's no way to rematch any characters. Triple/Rotation/Inverse Battles are all out. USUM couldn't even give us a quality return to the Factory with the Battle Agency, and it's the only facility they added to the game. There's so little to do that having a-lot of Pokemon almost doesn't even matter, unless you're exclusively a collector.
