At this rate i'd say that it's more convenient to wait for the Z version, as it'll obviously fix all the problems X/Y had and add the much needed postgame. But now i'm starting to believe that Gamefreak will be too lazy to do even that.
How dissapointing. If Z doesn't turn out to be GOTYEY, i think it's finally time to jump ship.
