Anyways, I would wager things are better than ever in some fandoms (Kirby, Splatoon) while some are languishing in poor care and quality (Sonic). Its the fault of the creatives and top decision makers of Pokemon for torpedoing the goodwill and high spirits of the hardcore fandom in favor of dollar signs. The longer this goes on the more it seeps down to past fandoms like a acid eating away at the dirt layers until it reaches the bunker.
Short of a complete overhaul or savior in transferring IP ownership thing are looking to stay the same for foreseeable future. I think Game Freak is aware of this since they're trying wildly new approaches like outsourcing to literally whos for remakes and betting it all on a foolhardy BotW clone, but Masuda, Ohmoti and Ishihara remain sore spots for the series. Maybe things could feasibility improve if one or all of these people get ousted, but GF will still remain weak and anemic relying on others to buffer up their terrible programmers. A takeover by Monolith Soft or Bandai Namco is a longheld pipe dream among many here.
