I'm a mahjongfag so I know what's like to play "competitively" on a luck-based game. But in Pokémon's case - and specifically Smogon's take on Pokémon -, there's no point learning the percentages, digitally right moves, and data because they're constantly shifting according to the community's endless cycle of "I don't like it so it has to go".
They may hate VGC but at least it's CONSISTENT, just like mahjong whose rules change once in a blue moon.
