>>48528391Got a shiny hoothoot on my first playthrough of HG/SS, I was a teenager at the time, and till then I had always thought that shiny pokemon were some kind of urban legend, like light and dark pokemon from pokemon crater, so needless to say I lost my shit. I wasn't an avid user of the internet to fact check things at the time so I thought that there were multiple color palette variants of shiny pokemon and I happened to get the one that looked like Ash's noctowl.
Always found it weird that I clocked hundreds of hours in gen 3 without seeing one at all (not counting the scripted ones in the battle tower variant in FRLG).
