>>48518491"Normal people" don't care about HG/SS because they're busy playing through whatever the latest garbage Game Freak churns out is. You can't argue from popularity because HG/SS are no more popular than B2/W2 are now, since they're both a decade old. They're long forgotten.
All that's left to argue is on quality and merit, and it's clear to most people not blinded by nostalgia that B2/W2 were the superior games. From a game design perspective, the Gen 5 games are more well made, and if you want to argue feelings like "muh following Pokemon, muh soul, muh music", then so can the opposition.
