Is IV breeding REALLY worth it? I had always assumed the 0 - 31 IV stat wasn't really a 1:1 stat increase at level 100. I had assumed it was like EVs or something. Where if two Pokemon had the same nature and EVS, but was between 0 and 31 on their IVs, you'd have a significant difference in stats. But, as I am finding out, it's actually 1:1, so only 31 points.
Now, I can understand breeding for the right nature. That doesn't require a lot of work, and the more you do it, the easier it gets. So it's a 10% difference for fairly small work.
EV training gives a fairly big difference imo, so where if you didn't EV train, you'd definitely be at a disadvantage.
IV breeding though... Sure, you'll technically be at a "disadvantage" but is it really that significant compared to the time required to get one? Even with the improvements this time around, it still requires several hours to get started, and then an hour or two to get what you want. Do those 31 points in any stat REALLY impact the competitive battles THAT much? Can I battle competitively without dedicating those hours into IV breeding? I mean, like I said, I'll be at a disadvantage to those who do, but is that much of a discrepancy?
