Anyone wanna talk about their favorite things about BW?
I personally felt they captured the whole Friend / Rival situation incredibly well than any other generation. Cheren and Bianca are very likable characters and Cheren attempting various different strategies was appreciated. Bianca’s character arc is a bit meh but she’s full of energy and joy, a nice way to remind you of Pokemon’s Charm. And N wasMy your dickish rival but a mysterious character who disagreed with your POV. I much enjoy this than people who want to be curb stomped and berated by their rivals, I don’t understand why people love that so much.
Hugh was also alright. The second rival to have some connection with the enemy team and I felt was done better than Silver. You can joke all you want about “MUH PURRLOIN” but Hugh had a badass theme, an awesome character design, some of the funniest and most memorable lines, and was an integral focus to the story compared to other rivals. If only his team and goal weren’t shit he’d be perfect. This goes for the other 3, but expecting perfection in Pokemon is pointless at this point.
