The combination of two Types may now create a new and unique Type through the use of an item/mechanism/ability/NPC/whatever. Dual-type Pokemon may be 'purified' into Single-type Pokemon, creating 'Pseudo-Types' with unique properties. For instance, Water/Ground Pokemon may be transformed into the 'Mud Type', which is not weak to Grass, retains STAB on Water and Ground moves, and is immune to Ground moves.
