Rather, I actively wish for a game with a very limited roster (like 100 or so), but that uses the very limited number of pokemon to do something interesting with them, the massive amount of resources freed up by the limited number of pokemon now used to make a better world, interesting mechanics that aren't just turn-based fighting, and more things that the actual pokemon can "do" in the world now that you're free to rig their models since there's less of them.
Pokemon is bloatware at this point, more than 1000 pokemon 90% of which end up irrelevant outside of bogging down an already inept team.
