For most pokemon with more complex designs, I don't think it necessarily matters. But look at pic related and tell me that the best one is Gen 6. I mean if you genuinely feel that way, I'll respect your opinion, but ultimately disagree.
Sprites have art direction that adds life to simpler designs.
I don't necessarily think we need to go back to sprites, but maybe having more dynamic neutral poses on the models? I just like sprites because I'm a nostalgiafag. Sprites are comfy to me.
