In this, you find or otherwise obtain what shows up as an "injured Pokémon" in your party. You take it to a place, like the Sinjoh Ruins, and Ho-Oh appears to turn it into your choice of the three dogs. It isn't even that far-fetched, considering the Arceus event.

Ground with spirit of mother behind it in some form. Works as Kangaskhan, but with Motherghost doing ghost-type damage.
