Shit, even my main man Makuhita isn't native to Alola. 'Dex confirms they were brought in from (I wana say) Hoenn and have been stirring up a little trouble here and there as they use trees for sparring practice- accidentally picking fights with Exeggutor in the process. If I had to elaborate further, though, they're probably also destructive to their environment since the trees in Hoenn are obviously going to be different from the tropical island trees of Alola.
Makuhita snapping them, pushing them over, breaking them, as they use them to toughen themselves up and train. They also probably tear apart palm trees to gather and consume the starchy heart of palm core in the center of the tree. Since even though there's a lot of fruit native to Alola I wouldn't imagine it'd be enough to substantiate the massive caloric needs of my favorite little living punching bag.
