I also hink it's very unoptimal to try and invent a patch or fix for the problem instead of a prevention for it in the first place. But we know people, many people are lazy and unmotivated, many will still fall into obesity and won't recover willingly. I think it would still be fruitful to find ways to address the issues that obesity entails as well as a preventative measure if we're purely talking about making society better, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure after all, but I also understand first world society can often put desires and wants before optimal solutions and ideas.
Let's relate this back to the topic of the thread though, how would obesity affect people in the Pokemon world? Does their society lack the technology, manufacturing, and crop production to give a reason to entitle it an epidemic? If Rose's Macro Cosmos corp is anything canonically worth it's flavortext, tehy should have the technology akin to Amazon's shipment and delivery system for both retail and individual consumer basis. Corvaknight and other pokemon acting as delivery workers would also make at-home deliveries commonplace. Imagine a simple and easy streamlined grocery delivery service, you wouldn't need to leave home for mundane shopping ever again.
