My girl has:
>Unique typing... if it wasn't for the tree that came out literally the same generation
>Halloween related abilities in pickup and frisk, but not prankster
>Learns fire moves and you can see candle-like light coming from within. Doesn't get flash fire
>On the other hand trevenant gets way more helpful abilities like natural cure and harvest (a fucking pumpkin doesn't get harvest)
>You gotta trade for it, and you're stuck with whatever nickname the original owner gave it, or get fucked if they traded you a troll eviolite pumpkaboo
>Comes in 4 different sizes, of which only 2 can get its HA, which isn't that helpful to begin with, and again only 2 sizes have any kind of niche: S is fast and XL is physically bulky. M and L have literally nothing going for them
>Flamethrower and fire blast make it unique among grass types, and access to shadow ball, energy ball, dark pulse, etc. make for a quite decent special movepool. SpA is shit
>Only XL has a somewhat decent base 100 Atk stat. Most powerful STABS are a 90 bp 2-turn move that can be blocked by normal types and a 80 bp move with no secondary effects
>Signature move isn't even that helpful, since it adds the ghost type instead of working like soak; you have to use it in a normal type partner to give them a good defensive type combo until they switch out, or you have to use it on your foe and hope their natural type(s) don't neutralize the effectivenes of ghost, otherwise you just lost a turn
>Trevenant's signature move is exactly the same but somehow more useable as adding a grass type ALWAYS gives more weaknesses
>Signature move could have been a ghost attack able to hit normal types instead
>Trevenant is in the datamined SM pokedex; Gourgeist isn't
>In rare fangames with gen 6 mons, trevenant is always in; gourgeist only exists in 1 (pokemon gaia)
I love this thing (I like trevenant too, don't get me wrong), but I'd like if for once it didn't feel like GF only remembers trevenant as the ghost/grass type
