>>51682506>TOTT: What's an idea you've had that you saw another author do already? Was it better or worse?I had an idea where Pokemon had RWBY aura as HP bars to protect them from damage.
The author of "Welcome to the (insane) world of Pokémon" had written that in his story. I appreciate that someone had a similar idea to mine. I wouldn't say better or worse since his implementation of the idea was a minor piece of his work.
My take on would be fleshed out to tie into the themes of friendship:
>Trainers and Pokemon link their auras together like Cold Steel's combat links.> Humans' aura is usually repressed inside and uncontrollable. Only trained Aura Guardians would be able to consciously bring it out. >For anyone that's not an Aura Guardian they need to link with a Pokemon so the Pokemon can force out the repressed aura inside their Trainer.>Aura enhances everything about the user, their senses, sight, hearing, durability and stamina. >Aura increases by overcoming challenges, training and bonds between multiple Pokemon>An aura's effects are determined by typing. Type specialized are Trainers who've auras types have completely changed to the type they specialize in.>Blain would be able to survive in higher temperatures and hold lava in his hands. >Legendaries have unique link effects>The best way to strengthen yourself and your aura would be to go on a journey and make strong connections. The challenges and adversaries would make yoru aura bigger.>Trainers can identify which Pokemon is inside the Pokeball just by linking their aura with the Pokemon.>The Pokemon's benefits would be accelerated growth and hidden potential unlocking. Pokemon's potential are brought out thanks to their Trainer's aura, depending on how strong their bond is.The idea was just so I could slot this system into any Pokemon story possible so I could have an excuse for human characters to do anime shit like running up buildings or catching bullets with their bare hands.
