The original Desco was a ferocious engine of destruction; able to conquer entire netherworlds in mere days, able to go toe-to-toe with God and feel nothing but faint arousal, and able to make a moody, temperamental teenage girl who hated her and thought she had murdered her into a doting big sister as a side quest.
Mass produce the things, and they bum around the cafeteria, devolve into pets and "pokemon", have a vague sense of dissatisfaction with their life and dreams they've been told are their right being unnatainable which results in disinterested sloth and consumerism, much like an american.
They don't bother trying to become final bosses anymore, most don't even make it to mook. They are just kind of "there". They could take over the world in an instant if they wanted, but don't bother, because it's not like they'd be able to appreciate it with a million other final weapons everywhere.
