i think they somehow made the battle tree even more cancerous
>using golisopod/slowbro/alolawak team>said team absolutely wrecked the singles tree in moon, getting upwards of 150 streaks before getting hax'd to death>battle 1 in regular singles of ultra moon>hypnosis gengar to dodge sucker punch>kept using hypnosis>eventually golisopod woke up and decked it, rest was easy enough>battle 2>sableye lead>first impression it, it's fucking brightpowder and misses>confuse ray>hit self in confusion 3 times before emergency exit activates>go slowbro and try to toxic>misses but is faster, meaning it's fucking STALL sableye>confuse ray>hityourselfinconfusionhityourselfinconfusionhityourselfinconfusionhityourselfinconfusionhityourselfinconfusionhityourselfinconfusion>click out game and throw it with the force of a professional baseball pitcher at my beanbagi regret being this mad at a children's video game but fucking hell gamefreak know how to make the most annoying opponents possible
also, did the regular battle tree have no level restriction in S/M? i don't remember that being a thing, only noticed because my mons were their normal level 60 selves in the battles
>>34280496cutscene bombardment aside, i loved some of the characters and their development, particularly gladion and guzma
i absolutely love the sharpedo surfing and how it controls, so much fun to mess around with and explore even if it is just another way to surf in the overworld
mantine surf is unironically one of my favourite additions to the series, but i wish there was a bit more to it than just "go fast and waggle the circle pad", all the comical obstacles were a nice touch to make it a bit more challenging
except the sharpedo, fuck them
