The problem is not rules. Those are just symptom of the real problem, which isn't even spam or shit champs. The real problem is the people. The people who showderp and the people who go in the room (because those are now two distinct groups) are of such low quality that all the spam, shitposting, etc is inevitable. The non-shit people can't be bothered to step up and do anything because any attempted cure for the cancer is immediately jumped on and demonized. Ideally, rules would be nice, but they would necessitate some sort of power structure or system to enforce it. People that showderp, by their very nature, want to be shits to some degree. Shits abhor rules, especially those forcibly imposed by their peers. So nothing will be fixed because the problem is inherent in the system. It was only a matter of time before it degenerated to the level it has. The worst of it is, that showderp has yet to hit rock bottom.
