I had many shinys in gen 2. I think my shiny Houndour was the first. I named it Sapphire (this was before gen 3 was a thing).
I clocked so many hours playing Silver and then Crystal (which had those daycare eggs which all but guaranteed shinys) I also had a shiny Drowsee, Caterpie, and a shiny of every Poke you could get from the Odd Egg (I restarted Crystal a lot and stored my Pokemon in Stadium 2).
Sigh...I haven't seen my oldest friends in years. They gather dust, lost to the ages thanks to Game Freak not allowing any transfer between gens 2 and 3.
