they can reuse the animations forever if they keep the same rigs. Animations only rely on the specific armature, and can even be adjusted for different-proportioned armature with minimal problems.
The models themselves have clean enough topology that they can easily be subsurf'd for higher spec systems and then have new materials made. Materials are the easy aprt cause all they really have to do is copy the shader theyre using for the other pokemon, generate some new maps based on whatever baking/texturing process they use for each pokemon, and bob's your uncle. one person could subdivide and re-material several pokemon in an afternoon, depending on how much actual hand-painting is required which judging by SwSh's style is very very little.
