Ori's gender is simply Light Manifest, if you go by the ending of Will of the Wisps, you could see that the tree he becomes (as is his destiny to become so) is a male tree, and not a female one, for male trees produce pollen, and female trees produce fruit. Ori Tree did not produce Fruit. (No, the Lantern lights hanging off of him don't count as Fruit because they are an introduced species that co exist in the world of Ori)
