And this is precisely why lucario is my favourite pokemon species. It's as anti-pokemon as it can possibly be. It's not an insane evil monster like most ghost types, nor docile cattle defined by contentment.
It's element is light in a world where true light doesn't exist and there is only darkness. It's brave as proven by having 2 unflinching abilities, has extremely powerful telepathic and empathic abilities and champions justice. It won't even accept a trainer which doesn't value it (not that the concept of "trainers" as pokemon sees it should exist in the first place).
Its name means "one of light or luminarity" and it wields a bone made of light as its weapon like a holy paladin, which explains its steel type. It should learn sacred sword but as always game freak is a dissapointment.
If pokemon weren't what it is the species would have created their own original civilization and would have collaborated with humanity and eradicated all demonic and useless species antithetically to everything the powers that be stand for. And in case it wasn't obvious enough I don't mean the slave shitty bodyguard dog fight type of collaboration.
Speaking of dogs, lucario is also as much of an anti-dog as it can possibly be. There is no loyalty, no lack of differenciation between good and evil, no shitting on civilization. It reminds me of the connection humans have with primates or birds with reptiles. They rise out of that state and become something as far removed from it as possible.
Lucario also looks cool as fuck visually and one of the 1% pokemon designs I wouldn't redesign in some way if I was making a fanfic game or something.
