>>46156894As far as I'm aware it's like it is here. The otaku are angry about the downgrade in quality, but the casual market doesn't mind and is fine with things as they are. The only difference is that pissed off otaku can be a real threat, while a pissed off American nerd is most likely just going to (justifiably) whine on the Internet.
Masuda tweeted about the backlash on his birthday though because some Japanese fans were harassing him and he asked to be left alone for the day. I don't think there were a ton of them but it was enough to get noticed.
