The whole system's rotten, seemingly tailor-made to crush any ounce of enthusiasm a child has for any subject or hobby around. I recently discovered I actually enjoy writing a bit, I could have had it as a hobby for years had the school system not drilled it into my head that it was always a passion-free, soulless act that only existed to give shitty books plot summaries the teacher would be happy enough with.
