Gen 6 also can't really be fixed by Z at this point anyway. By the time it could come out nearly THREE YEARS of mediocrity and glory days yearning will have passed. Gen 4 was fixed as soon as it got its second game, then carried on the greatness with remakes. Gen 5 had less games, but it compensated by getting the best pair out even faster.
It really says a lot when Gen 7 is being hyped up before Z has even been announced, or they're planning to make XY/ORAS completely irrelevant for "Gen 6's" finale.
