Final team, there were a few members that stood with me for a good while like Graveler, Bellsprout and Pinsir, but Espeon, Aggron, Feragatr and Skarmory ended up being my main go team.
Review time.
>The good
Honestly I can't praise enough how interesting the mix of Pokemon and final fantasy is, I do really like the gameplay system and I do think the game runs pretty well, the writing is honestly pretty charming for the most part, Ethan/Gold was honestly the most fun protagonist we've gotten in a Pokemon fangame in a very long time, he takes no shits and is super cocky, I thought I was going to hate this character considering he was calling a character "sexist" at the start of the game, but he grew on me, Silver was honestly a pretty refreshing take, I've seen some Crystal hacks trying to rewrite him or even give him an arc, but they end failed pretty badly in some ways, but I really like how he was handled in this game, Oak is pretty funny and I wished we got to see a bit more of him.
>The okay
The crafting system was honestly far better than I expected and it was even somewhat engaging for a while, but it starts getting really annoying after a while, since you need very specific materials to make the refined items, which you can then turn into TMs, higher tier items or occasionally some other niche items. I feel like the boss fights in this game feel very well designed, they're very much brute force most of the time, but there are some that will be hellish if you don't go in with a strategy or at least with some side Pokemon to help deal with certain types, I really liked them but I felt like they could be a bit more interesting.
>The questionable
The mapping is mostly okay, but there are certain sections that are just hellish, the water routes are genuinely awful and Victory Road really sucks to traverse and is so painfully to get lost in there that you mind end up going in circles for quite a few minutes. The Pokemon placement is really questionable at times,
