i used to carry a spiral notebook where I would draw pokemon in, as in a "gotta draw em all" kinda thing. it was fun finding out about new pokemon and drawing it.
I also used to have a pikachu virtual pet and would bring it to school. everyone thought it was super cool and me and "friends" would take turns running around the school while carrying it to get watts. I left it on a table at a Chuck E Cheese, walked away, came back, and it was gone. rip.
My dad was super christian and one day when I was in middle school got my folder of pokemon cards and destroyed them and threw them away. I'm still so mad about that.
