>>43893339Xenoblade 2 is far more than just waifus. I love the battle system, world, music, character writing, themes, and the story is alright too, despite some of its inconsistencies. I played for hundreds of hours. I beat all the superbosses and bought the expansion pass, and the Torna DLC was pretty meaty.
If you want flaws
>The game had a distinct lack of QoL features at the beginning, but many were fixed over the course of a year of free updates>The battle system has a lot to wrap your head around, and the game isn't great about explaining it. One of the missing QoL features that it could have used was a tutorial library like Torna and Definitive Edition had.>The game was clearly rushed to meet a Holiday 2017 deadline, with the Event Theater not even finalized in the 1.0 version of the game>Unique quests to obtain Rare Blades would have been more interesting, but they did all get unique quests after you got them, and there is fun to be had by comparing who you have with other people>The battle system does feel a lot slower after playing Torna>The overworld and exploration aren't as good as they are in X>The Collectopedia/Bestiary got scrapped, along with potential item and creature descriptions (Tyrannotitan Kurodil's species is called a Ballistaur, and we only know that because of datamining)But auto-attacks, Arts, special moves, Blade Combos, Driver Combos, Fusion Combos, Chain Attacks, elemental bursts, cooldown, Core Chips, Aux Cores, equipment, pouch buffs, party builds, Blade roles, the Affinity Chart, Driver Chart, elemental debuffs, Poppi customization, Challenge Mode, the difficulty options, the freedom to try and kill high level enemies from an early point, there's so much to love.
