>>16152790no, it's not. you need to know how to spot an actual trade versus a scam. never EVER trade a legendary/item-evolution for anything except a shiny. The japanese are usually legit, but not all of them. Don't blow your 5iv mons on trades, even if they ask for it. Always trade 4iv or below, you don't want to scam them, but chances are they are lying so you can't afford to give away all your good shit that you can use in trade threads. Wondertrade is your friend, I've gotten so many good foreign 4-5iv egg move mons off wondertrade, it's not even funny. Quality depends on the time of day, if you are getting shitmon, just stop for awhile and try again later. When it rains, it pours. On the GTS, look for fair trades, ie level ones for level ones. Beware of fishy looking messages with lots of exclamation points or caps. Use google translate on your phone if you have it to take a picture of their text and it will translate it for you. Higher level lowest evolution pokemon means they were sitting in the daycare for awhile, especially if they are past their evolution level (this means there is a better chance of it being legit).
there you have it, crash course in not getting shit on in the GTS whilst not being a total scumbag yourself.
