But my pick is Marshtomp. Here's how most three stage evolutions go in Pokemon:
quadruped-->biped-->biped OR quadruped-->quadruped-->biped
But Mudkip line subverts expectations and goes quadruped-->biped-->quadruped . The middle stage is just so out there and goofy compared to most bipedal Pokemon where they try to make them look cool or humanoid. Derpy mudpuppy went relatively unnoticed for the longest, being neither the cute starter or the strong final evolution, but sometime a year or two ago it somehow became a weird Japanese meme for awhile, which is stranger yet when for completely different reasons like a decade before that the first stage Mudkip became a meme too. Still think they're overlooked in the grand scheme of things though, which is a shame when they're awfully cute when you stop and admire their weirdness and what the design was going for.
