So let me tell you about my ultimate pokebro, Gyarados. Gyarados has been with me ever since 1998 on Pokemon Red, when the Prima strategy guide told me not to buy him at the pokemon center outside of Mt. Moon, back when he was a useless Magikarp. I didn't listen, the pokedex in the back told me he'd evolve at level 20, and I was determined to get him there. One long string of Geodudes and Zubats later and I had the ultimate bro on my team. Gyarados would wreck everything with Bite and Surf, and eventually mother fucking HYPERBEAM! What an unstoppable monster. He'd carry me the rest of the game, crushing my enemies with his glorious rage, be they Rocket or Gym Leader. Blaine? Bah. Gionvanni? A joke versus the majesty of the big brother of the King of Karp. Lance's own Gyarados couldn't keep up with my own! Then Gold came out and Gyarados was back, but he was shiny now! So my new Shiny bro teamed up with the rest of my pokes and laid the smackdown on everything that came near. Once again a Gyarados tore through the Elite 4 time after time. Then there was Emerald, and I needed a pokemon who could Surf and climb Waterfalls. I knew just who to could do the job. In Diamond, my bro got an upgrade. His Waterfall attack suddenly did TONS of damage, and he was back at my side again, bullying the competition with his awesome ATK stat.
Then I hit a bump. Magikarp were nowhere to be found in Black! But when I got to Black 2, the Magikarp vendor was back with a vengeance, and once again I was able to unleash my Bro's awesome fury on the land. And now we're at Gen VI, once again, I've hatched and raised a new Gyarados for a new Generation. This one has pentaperfect stats and a nature that is quite Adamant. So angry, so baller. I wouldn't trade him for any other pokemon. I find him when he's a nobody, just splashing in the rivers, and I raise him to be a god. In return, he brings his wrath down on those who would fight me. Gyarados is the one true bro.
