>>56401387Yeah, it was shenanigans. They had a first vote that was a popular vote, and then for the last two, the Pokemon were decided by event winners. The kicker is that they decided to have 6/13 of the events decided by tournaments in PIF Showdown. This meant that half the people with a vote were more invested in a comp side game than Infinite Fusion, and gave more of a shit about arbitrary stats than aesthetic or popularity. Accordingly, trash mons like Pelipper, Crawdaunt, and Carbink made it into the second vote.
The PIF Showdown community is also fairly small and so there happened to be a dominant player who won two events. The asshole then decided to have both votes be for Carbink (which they admitted was just worse Diancie), but fortunately, in the second vote where points were assigned based on winner's top 3 favorite mons none of the above shitmons made it into top 4 (even with Carbink getting a double 3 point vote it only got one 1 point vote from other people).
They then decided to do a raffle, the stupidest idea imagineable, with infinite potential for autistic niggas to arbitrarily get a mon added. With picks still based on event winners, Carbink once again got double odds based on the one showdown winner who wanted it for comp. Carbink won the 2/13 odds over Slurpuff's 4/13 odds along with Ribombee's 2/13, with some other mons in there as well. So basically the mods decided to give a bunch of influence to people who don't care how mons looked, and the shit system of one person getting two votes finally fucked everyone.
The only upside is we might have a better chance of Diancie and the same person who makes the Diancie likes Carbink, so we should at least get some good ones.
