I really liked that, even if it was a choice by limitation
Although Platinum gave everyone proper teams which was also good too
I remember going out of my way to raise a Blissey in Diamond from Happiny and it paid off since I had a big SpD wall with Serene Grace to assail opponents with like, higher freeze chance from Ice Beam
Also, trekking through Route 217? the one with the blizzard, even though it was super slow, I legitimately felt lost, but in a good way
Sinnoh felt like a really grand region with tons to discover and explore
About the only things I disliked were the fact that I had to dedicate two team slots to HM slaves and of course the speed
Maybe it's just the nostalgia talking but I really enjoyed Pokemon Diamond despite its slowness and faults
