What we have is that this is the 4th year in sequence they release a game (SM, USUM, LGPE, SwSh) - and GF simply can't produce a high quality Pokémon game a year, whatever the reasons be, it's not within the realm of reality for them. This was an excuse to continue releasing a game a year. And frankly I didn't even cared about the culling.
