If you can't understand as to WHY people prefer older designs (even though there's exceptions to the rule in regards to design philosophy) newer designs are more toon-like and not animal-esque. Vulpix has detailed 'realistic' animal legs and a body-to-head ratio that actually is somewhat realistic. I'll probably get banned for this either way, but this is really the only answer. The new pokemon look way too unrealistic. They're way too marketable in that sense. Notice how fanart of the three combined all prefer to take a more realistic and unified approach? New Pokemon simply do not fit in well with the old ones.
