>>50566623>>50566828>In a nutshell, Mega Banette will be strictly inferior to Mega GengarYeah, that seems to be about the size of it. Hurts especially bad too since Banette has become my favorite Pokémon. The only upside is that you don't have to do as many raids for it, which honestly sounds like more of a downside for me...
>for whenever Mega Gengar isn't available. Think Halloween events where you'll probably want ghost megas running every day.Even then it might be better to get Gengar to max level, not just because it will give you access to better ghost-type candy boosts before they release it, but also since there will be a lot of good poison-types coming out with the Ultra Beasts. Regardless, Mega Sableye fills that role better since it also covers dark-types and costs the same amount of energy as Mega Banette.
>>50566828>>50566882>Altaria is good mega for dragon raids. It such is (pic related was from a Hardest Hitter from a Mega Latios raid I did using it). I've also found Mega Steelix to be surprisingly useful, though not for nearly as many situations as Mega Altaria. Ground-types kind of suck in PvE, so mega-boosting them matters more than it does for other types. Too bad Mega Sableye will also fill a similar role to Mega Altaria, given its bulk and the fact that it covers ghost AND dark-type attackers, so there is virtually no use for Mega Banette once Mega Sableye comes out. Even in GBL its charge moves are too slow for a decent moveset, so its main advantages from unique charge moves like Dazzling Gleam and Thunder is completely stunted.
How depressing it is to learn that your favorite Pokémon might become more useful than just a paper-thin, ghost-type shadow razor, and then realize Niantic fucking hates it and is perfectly fine making it even less useful than Mega Slowbro, since there are arguments that a combination water/psychic-type candy farmer is really useful for some events.
