pokemon like fighting and being caught is probably just making the pokemon respect the trainers strength. i think they like being trained cause its hard to get stronger on their own. i know the anime said pokemon are jealous of pokemon that are caught in the beginning. theyre just boxing matches and not dog fighting tier cause theres rules. it is true that the morals are kinda not really talked about enough or are even confusing. like they are not making it clear enough that pokemon want to do this which is why people are so dumb they think the pokemon are fucking enslaved. pokemon fighting in a "wrong" way and being used as mindless fighting tools or things to be sold is always presented as a bad thing (team rocket) but its still not clear enough that people remember this i guess. the first movie already had mewtwo say pokemon are enslaved and pikachu told him to fuck off its not true lmao. remember sad misty saying pokemon arent supposed to fight like this when the clones and the originals were fucking each other up. taking control in ways that is forced also seems to be bad. like i think at one point the evil guys had mind control devices or some shit but dont quote me on that cause i havent seen this shit in forever.
