You might not be one of them but you cannot deny the fact that it made thousands of people interested in anime again and made it relevant again as one of the pillars of the franchise. XY had its flaws, just like any other series but those were overwhelmed by the positives for the majority of XY's run. General consensus of seasoned fans is that it maybe lacked slightly in comedy but it made up with great character development, awesome battles and beautiful artstyle. League finals outrage is balanced by the best evil team conclusion in the history of this show. For the vast majority of the older audience it is either DP or XY when it comes to the best season to date.
