>>27484392This is late, but I know in real life Okinawa they don't have many tall palm trees. The island, and southern Japan in general get hit by a lot of typhoons during the season, so the tall trees either get knocked down or don't grow that tall. Hawaii on the other hand barely gets hit by strong tropical storms.
My source is my aunt visiting from Okinawa was amazed at all of the tall coconut palms we had when she came over.
